Material:
- VM 13 has proven itself for almost all casting materials: steel, Inconel, ....
- VM 23 is used exclusively for aluminium investment casting.
- MG1 has a higher fused silica content.
- The basis of all our materials is zirconium and fused silica, in various composition ratios.
- Tests for individual, customized materials can be carried out.
Material
We use different ceramic masses, produced in-house, processed into granules.
Strength
Our production method with granules allows us to form the cores at high pressure and impregnation is not always necessary!
-
Strength:
- Breaking strength: 18 – 24 mPa.
- Heat-resistant up to 1650°C.
- No shrinkage or warping during the casting process.
- Cores for aluminium investment casting, however, must always be impregnated.
- In special cases, an increase in the density of the structure is required.
- Our specially developed impregnation gives the ceramic cores a harder surface layer. The surface is also sealed. The organic impregnation is burned off during the firing of the ceramic shell in investment casting, at the same time without leaving any residue.
Leachability
After the casting process, the cores should disappear into thin air, but unfortunately it's not quite that easy.
-
Leachability:
- The composition of our cores has been matched to the material to be cast in order to be able to use the appropriate method for triggering.
- We recommend for steel:
- Aqueous potassium hydroxide solution at 110°C,
- Kolene-Bath,
- Caustic soda at 500°C,
- Sandblasting possible.
- For aluminum investment casting:
- High-pressure water jet.
